The African Beauty Law Report

We are proud to announce the release of the inaugural African Beauty Law Report, the continent's first dedicated compendium documenting the legal, regulatory, and policy developments shaping Africa's beauty and cosmetics industry. As Africa's beauty sector continues to grow in scale, sophistication, and influence, so too do the legal questions surrounding product safety, intellectual property, advertising, consumer protection, market regulation, manufacturing, and cross-border trade. Yet until now, there has been no dedicated resource examining these developments through a legal lens. The African Beauty Law Report seeks to bridge that gap. Drawing on developments from across the continent, the report serves as a pioneering resource for beauty law and jurisprudence in Africa, bringing together key disputes, regulatory actions, legal developments, and emerging issues influencing the sector.
What's inside:
🔹 Landmark beauty and cosmetics-related cases from across Africa
🔹 A detailed case and regulatory index for practitioners, researchers, and industry stakeholders
🔹 A glossary designed to make beauty law more accessible to non-lawyers
Developed by Beauty and Cosmetics Law Africa (BCLA).
